Frances A. High, M.D., Ph.D
Director
Frances A. High, M.D., Ph.D. is the Director of The North American AED (Antiepileptic Drug) Pregnancy Registry. She is a physician-scientist with expertise in human genetics and developmental biology. She is an active clinician in general medical and reproductive genetics, and her research focuses on the genetic and environmental causes of congenital anomalies and rare diseases. She received an M.D. and Ph.D. in Developmental Biology from The University of Pennsylvania, then completed a residency in Pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital and a fellowship in Clinical Genetics at Harvard Medical School. She is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.
Sonia Hernandez-Diaz, M.D., Dr.P.h.
Epidemiologist
Dr. Hernandez-Diaz is a Professor of Epidemiology and Director of the Pharmacoepidemiology Program at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Hernandez-Diaz joined The North American AED (Antiepileptic Drug) Pregnancy Registry team in October 2006. Dr. Hernandez-Diaz’s areas of research have been drug safety evaluation from observational data, with a special emphasis in the analysis of patterns of use and safety of drugs during pregnancy. She received her M.D. from Autónoma University of Madrid, and her M.P.H. and Dr.P.h. from the Harvard School of Public Health.
